An unfinished fan-made remake of Bounce by Caleb Strawberry, developed solely by Crigence and hosted / published by Plymouth Entertainment as a courtesy.
Bounce is an unfinished puzzle platformer which started and ended development around ~2019 with a simple but interesting premise: "Bounce through each level and make it to the golden finish line to progress to the next level." Thankfully, despite many Flowlab engine updates being applied to the game over the years (locking versions wasn't a thing back then), the game still (mostly) works and can be played here: https://flowlab.io/game/play/1077937
Though the game is admittedly poorly made technically, I thought the concept of a platformer where you play as a constantly bouncing ball was very novel and interesting. So much so in-fact that I made a game with a similar concept that went in a totally different, perhaps even more interesting direction: Bounce Jam. https://flowlab.io/games/play/2400788
Although Bounce Jam has some major fundamental gameplay differences, being less focused on movement puzzles and more-so on fact-paced decision making and skill, and although Bounce Jam has certainly evolved a lot farther than Bounce did, I still acknowledge and respect that my game owes its existence to Caleb Strawberry and Bounce. Which is why I find it kind of depressing how the game has just been left to rot over the years.
This game seeks to remedy that. For this remake, I plan to use the foundation established by Caleb Strawberry to make Bounce into a simple, short, but highly addictive puzzle platformer, like a lost jem from the Flash era. As I type this, the game only has three levels, and hasn't been worked on at all since February 17th 2024, but hopefully one day I'll get around to developing more levels and bringing this game to the vision I just described. -- Crigence, 6-24-25
